Mackenzie E. Bridges

For Mackenzie, being an attorney starts with understanding the person behind the case.

Mackenzie takes a client-centered approach to her practice, recognizing that people often come to an attorney during some of the most difficult, uncertain, and deeply personal moments of their lives. Whether she is defending someone accused of a crime, helping a parent navigate a custody dispute, or advocating for a family involved in the juvenile court system, Mackenzie believes effective representation begins with listening. She takes the time to understand her clients, their circumstances, and what matters most to them. When it is time to advocate on their behalf, she is prepared to do so with purpose and conviction.

In criminal defense, Mackenzie understands how quickly an accusation can cause others to focus on the worst thing alleged about a person. Her approach is different. She makes a point to learn who her clients are beyond the allegations against them, including their families, circumstances, goals, and the life that exists outside the pages of a court file. She brings that same individualized approach to her family and juvenile law practice, where the decisions made in a courtroom can have lasting effects on the people and relationships that matter most to her clients.

Born and raised in a small town in Southeast Iowa, Mackenzie has always had an appreciation for her small-town roots, even if she developed a love for city life along the way. Outside of the office and courtroom, she is a devoted sports fan with unwavering loyalties to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and Sacramento Kings. She and her mom are on a mission to visit every NBA arena together.

Mackenzie also loves traveling, especially when the destination involves an ocean and sunshine, a preference that has somehow survived a lifetime of Iowa winters. She enjoys spending time with her family, and doting on her beloved cat.
